KONA BLACK (13) produced a reasonable effort when third last start after being in contention on the corner over 1400m at this track, beaten 0.6 lengths. That followed a win at Kokura the start prior. Facing a tougher assignment but he is worth serious consideration. TATSU DIAMOND (14) made considerable ground in the run home to finish third last start over 1200m at Kokura. Expected to be there at the business end. KEIAI OMEGA (7) finished 3.5 lengths from the winner in fifth last time out over 1600m at Kyoto on January 28. Deserves another chance. IMPROVISER (3) is experiencing a long win drought, extended last start when fourth over 1200m at Nakayama. Likely improver who should be competitive.
