Summer Shade, Pacific and Trip To States to battle for the early lead at a slick tempo. GORGEOUS KLEIN (10) ran a good race when finishing second of nine in his first run for the Tony Peter stable. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Calvin Habib retains the ride and the combination should find themselves in the winner's enclosure. LEAD THE CHARGE (11) showed good improvement when finishing second in his last start over 1400m on this course. He set the pace but found one too good on the day. He is a progressive type and may have more to come. ILHA DA ORANGE (8) has produced two fair efforts to date. She will enjoy the drop back to 1200m and should give the males a decent run for their money. TANA MAREE (9) is an unraced filly from the Sean Tarry stable with S'manga Khumalo in the saddle. If not too green she should give a good account of herself. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.
