Battle of tactics to ensue over 2500m in a four horse field. No early speed. IRENIC has been a model of consistency of late and wasn't far off consecutive wins when placing at this course over 2000m 13 days ago. The gelding is untried over this distance however his form over ten furlongs has been solid enough. TOMMY GUN ran fourth in the same race at Wagga 13 days ago. By Not A Single Doubt, the 2500m must be a query. IRENIC has never raced better and comes off a peak when placing here off a big Canberra win. He will be right on speed and the claim assists. Clearly the one to beat despite the ride in trip. TOMMY GUN made big improvement in the same race and has always raced as if staying was his go. Could take this out without surprising.
JUDGE DOOM will be around the mark.
SUGGESTED PLAY: Irenic has been the most consistent. Back him straight out in the first.
