Plenty of speed runners engaged, with Ensuing, Global Thunder and Twentytwentyvision prominent. ALONE TIME (15) showed good improvement when third over this course and distance last time. He has won once and finished third twice from four starts over this course and distance. He has dropped to a competitive rating and with Andrew Fortune in the saddle can return to winning form. VEGAS HI RISE (2) stayed on well when third of 15 over 1100m at Turffontein last time. Two of his five career victories have come over this course and distance. Rates well as an each-way chance. MICKE'S BOMB (13) ran a good race when third if 14 over 1000m at Turffontein last time. She stayed on well at the finish that day. If confirming her recent improvement, she should give the males a decent run for their money. ENSUING (1) was in need of his resuming run over 1160m last start. He drops in class and will strip much fitter. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and is well worth considering.
