Genuine tempo from Definitive leading Samarkand. KING OF FIGHTERS (5) got too far back to threaten last start following a close defeat over 1200m the start prior. He proved he can run out the extra journey last start when favourite and it wouldn't surprise to see him sit closer in the run this time. Purton sticks and he can notch up his maiden victory. EXCELLENCE VALUE (2) is on the quick turnaround following a disappointing effort here last week on a rain affected track. Back on top of the ground should see him back to his best and he was knocking on the door in his previous runs. Maps to get every chance and should be right in the finish. LUCKY TOUCH (8) led last start but couldn't go on with the job, beaten 2.8L. His run two back was much better when ridden quieter and suspect they'll go back to those tactics today. Can bounce back. SURE JOYFUL (10) got the job done in good style last start and has to be included as he drops in weight.
