BUFFE (5) made progress last time out, finishing 3 lengths from the winner in third at the end of 1000m at this track after being in contention on the turn. Faces an easier assignment so he is one of the main contenders. CRY OF THE EARTH (2) ran a nice race last time out over 1000m at this track, finishing fourth and beaten 1.5 lengths. Looks well placed so expect another big run. SHIYU BLACK (4) last appeared five weeks ago over 820m at Sonoda when he finished fourth. This is his first run for the Masataka Sakuma stable. Well-placed and is among the chances. WHITE MAGIC (6) hasn't featured at his last two runs at JRA level. Well-placed in this easier company so could measure up.
