Strong tempo primarily from Wave Warrior, Dawn Surprise and Numzaan over Angel Of My Heart and Shiny Bob. NUMZAAN (7) has good recent form lines to his credit. He raced from a handy position over this course and distance last time and stayed on well to finish third. He will strip a much fitter horse and should be hard to peg back. VIVA DE JANEIRO (2) has fair recent form lines to his name. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from ten starts over this distance. Gavin Lerena steps back into the saddle and he can't be ignored. WAVE WARRIOR (3) won a good race over 1800m on this course last time. He returns from a spell. He gets the services of the 4kg claiming apprentice Mxolisi Mbuto which will assist his chances. If not in need of the run, he should give a good account of himself. SHINY BOB (6) again failed to feature last start, finishing sixth over 1600m at this track. Should be prominent from the outset and is worth an each-way ticket.
