They are sure to run this along with Japanese Garden and Empress Wu taking it up from a few of the debutants. DESERT CLOUD (1) is better than her last start run would suggest as she received check leaving the start and was reported to be not striding out. She has placed in three of her last four starts and should be fighting out the finish. JAPANESE GARDEN (18) set the pace over 1450m last time but found one too good on the day. She drops to 1200m which may do the trick. Gavin Lerena retains the ride, and she is one of the leading chances. EMPRESS WU (4) stayed on well when second over 1000m on the Classic course last time. She shows speed in her races and may be hard to peg back under Andrew Fortune. DEZIRE (10) is a three-year-old filly from the A P Peter stable on debut today. Has the profile to be competitive and should be included in combinations.
