Strong pace with Gathering Winter, Alakazam and Opera Fan pushing forward, closely attended by Mrsglittersparkles and Miss Danon. OPERA FAN (1) finished third in her last start over 1500m on the Vaal Classic course. She is back in maiden grade and jumps from pole position. Looks well placed to shed her maiden tag. ALAKAZAM (9) ran a decent race on debut over 1000m on the turf. She stayed on well at the finish and will enjoy the extra distance on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice. SPLASH OF LOVE (4) showed some improvement when fourth over this distance on the turf last time. She lost a length leaving the start and was running on at the finish. She is a progressive type and may have more to come. MRSGLITTERSPARKLES (7) has finished third in her last three starts, the latest of which was over this course and distance. With a bit of luck in the running she should be figuring in the finish.
