Moderate tempo expected with Temple Bells likely to find the front over Combs and Pride Of Glasgow. CLEVER ILLUSION (5) has had plenty of chances but he's not alone in this field. Went poorly at Port Macquarie last start but the form prior to that was solid, including a close second in heavy going over 1300m at Armidale on 6 April. Can win on his best figures. HOMELAND (1) has raced three times this prep, all in shorter races at this track, and been in the money on each occasion. Finding the line well which suggests this distance might suit. Handles all conditions so he looks a nice chance. PRIDE OF GLASGOW (2) again finished on the heels of the placegetters at his latest run over 1500m at Port Macquarie. Lightly raced colt who should be at his peak now. TEMPLE BELLS (4) continued a run of minor placings last start when he found a couple better over 1500m at Port Macquarie. Should be in the mix again. LABARNA (7) is the pick of the others on a six-day turnaround. SUGGESTED PLAY: Clever Illusion can break through.
