NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:30 James Vac Solutions Maiden Plate 1200m
Plenty of pace from the outset with Saker Falcon and Black Eyed Blonde leading the charge. Tricky. BLACK EYED BLONDE (4) was narrowly beaten at Moe and then again at Sale first up. Finally draws an inside gate and she can break through with the extra fitness. Ethan Brown gets off the above to stay with the debutant ENAMORADA (5), whom he's twice jumped out. The mare is well-related and a bold run is on the cards. LANGLO CROSSING (14) resumes gelded for a smart stable and won a recent Pakenham jumpout. Nolen sticks from that, and he won't have to be much improved to feature. TREBILCO (3) resumed with a 1L defeat at Bendigo and is sure to build on that. The barrier is a little awkward, but Shinn is a key jockey engagement.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Black Eyed Blonde.
2 02:00 Ballarat Volkswagen Fillies Maiden Plate 1200m
Plenty of first starters engaged which makes it tricky to map, but we can assume a genuine tempo. Tricky. CATWALK ICON (2) won a Flemington jumpout and then was well supported at Bendigo on debut and faded late from the speed on a heavy track. She maps well, and Coffey stays aboard. She's sure to have come on and will take beating on a dryer surface. POMAH (9) worked home fairly at Geelong on debut after an awkward start. She'd won two Flemington jumpouts leading into that and can make quick improvement. Has been kept on the fresh side, and Williams is a key jockey engagement. GIMME SOME LOVIN' (5) resumed on the heavy at Bendigo and looked a run short. The smart stable has applied the blinkers for the first time, and it won't surprise to see her feature. GISELLA (6) placed in the Catwalk Icon race on the heavy track at big odds. May need those conditions to shine but can't be taken lightly. SATTVA (12) debuts with the in-form Brown aboard, and her jumpouts suggest she needs to be kept safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Catwalk Icon.
3 02:30 Global Turf Maiden Plate 1000m
Many of these step out for the first time so a genuine tempo is expected. Debutants look to hold the aces. LUDLUM (4) debuts for the Begg barn and impressed when winning a recent Cranbourne jumpout. Maps well and on what we've seen, he's going to be tough to beat. Ditto ARMAGH (1), who won two trials in New Zealand before switching the Hayes yard. Presents today off an easy Wangaratta trial win and jumps from the inside barrier. TRES MAGNIFIQUE (13) has jumped out well, and Shinn sticks from the latest. She's another promising 3yo with winning claims. NEVERENOUGHLEGO (6) may be the best of the raced. Has an awkward gate, but he raced well enough last preparation and has been gelded. He won a recent Flemington jumpout with race rider Dee in the saddle. Keep onside.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Ludlum in a tricky race.
4 03:00 Manhari Maiden Plate 1400m
Without an obvious leader, it may be left to Pepe, Pharoah's Glory and Mystic Rapture to control the tempo. CISCO (8) was good at Sandown-Lakeside on debut and then jumped $3 at Seymour and didn't handle the heavy track. He will present fitter again and will get every chance from a handy barrier. PHAROAH'S GLORY (6) has placed 4/4 and did about what was expected first-up, over shorter. She missed a whisker here prior over a mile and will be much sharper today. John Allen is likely to push forward, and she has winning claims. GEE TEE (14) resumes for a sharp local stable and has jumped out well. She showed enough on debut at the track to say she will be very competitive. SPEED KING (10) debuts and is also in good hands. He's been well-prepared, and Nolen's booking is an indication that he's pleasing.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Cisco.
5 03:30 McGrath Ballarat BM62 Handicap 2000m
A solid tempo anticipated with Buzzaroon and Mickio ahead of Zeshadow and Wise Legend. Tough. SOUND OF JURA (6) keeps improving and looks suited stepping up to the middle distance for the first time. The gate is awkward, but Childs replaces the apprentice, and he is a solid each-way proposition. LIKE A TIGER (4) raced more forward and was back to his best beaten 1.5K at Sandown-Hillside in stronger. The hare is tricky, but the 1.5kg claim assists and with average luck he can threaten. BUZZAROON (5) is a leader who seeks the hat-trick off a spacious 62 win this grade at Warrnambool this trip. Has to skip over from an outside barrier, but he'll be in the finish if that works out. POWER PIVOT (9) stepped up to this trip and won his Maiden comfortably at Seymour. That was expected, and he will likely settle forward again. He has plenty of scope for improvement.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Having something on Sound Of Jura each way.
6 04:00 All In Accounting BM62 Handicap 1000m
Solid tempo anticipated with Keepsake leading the way. ESPINHO (3) peaks and has just missed twice since his first-up Maiden win here. Raced a $2.60 favourite at Mornington last time and keeps improving. Dropping back to a shorter sprint shouldn't be an issue for the on-pacer. Go close. NORMANDY LASS (11) won a Bairnsdale Maiden by a space first-up (more than a year away) and then went close this grade at Mornington. She will be fitter again and maps for the run of the race. A player. KEEPSAKE (8) led and won a Maiden here easily before the spell and resumes owning two Flemington trial wins. Hasn't raced for 330 days but the speedy mare looks ready to go. It's hard to risk this stable at home. SHE DARESTHE DEVIL (10) has been plainer her last two but has been racing in better class. Comes back to a shorter sprint freshened and can't be ruled out.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Espinho.
7 04:30 Hygain Winners Choice BM62 Handicap 1200m
Pace looks strong from Wild Dancer and Persian Caviar striding forward, with Hionado kicking up on the inside. PERSIAN CAVIAR (10) resumes for a sharp barn and has been saved for this. She was an easy Maiden winner when last seen, and she has jumped out well for her return. She will likely push forward, and Nolen's booking is a decent push for her readiness. WHAT YOU WILL (6) improved again leading and winning a 58 at Geelong. Draws to advantage and keeps the handy claim. She's been kept on the fresh side and is rated to go close. COMIC HERO (3) is much better than the form line suggests. He's been racing in town in stronger and two back was beaten just 1L at Sandown-Hillside. Has the blinkers on again and count on John Allen to manage the awkward barrier. BLUEPINOT (8) resumes and has been switched south by the Waller yard. May need one but won a recent Flemington jumpout and is worth keeping safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Persian Caviar appeals most.
8 05:00 Sportsbet Gold Nugget 1600m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Wild Imagination. RUNNING BY (4) posted a big relative number missing a whisker in a Flemington 100 behind Zou Sensation and then raced at Stakes level in Adelaide and didn't appreciate the wet track, disappointing behind Cafe Millenium (vet cleared). Winning rider John Allen is reunited, and she's suited stepping up to the mile. Finds the right race. HARD TO CROSS (3) found a place in an 84 at Flemington and then was better again winning an Open 4 at The Valley over this distance. Egan replaces the 3kg apprentice and will roll forward. A chance. Ditto GREEN FLY (5) going on his narrow defeat at Flemington two back in the Running By race. Forgive the latest when he settled too far back. FORGOT YOU (2) has been giving away starts but is knocking on the door, and Shinn sticking aboard is a decent push for his chances.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Running By.
9 05:30 Hygain Winners Choice BM62 Handicap 1500m
Moderate tempo with Highly Intrigued leading the way and a few others keeping in touch. NAINA (3) resumes off two Flemington jumpouts for the Waller yard. She maps well and is proven fresh. Has the ability and expect her to go close with McNeil engaged. MISS TRUSTFUL (7) continues to race well for the Maher yard, and they have scratched a fancied stablemate. There was only a nose in it at Mornington last time. Can sit forward with cover and deserves another chance. DEELING ACES (2) resumes and is proven fresh. Lightly raced and has shown enough to say she can be very competitive. MOOR MUMM (5) tries hard and has pieces of form that would see her in the mix. Needs to lift to be winning.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Naina.
