CAPITAL VENEERING HANDICAP 1200m
Expecting Mystic Flame to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint course. MERCHANT REIGN (2) led and belted the 50 graders on the Acton synthetic fresh and then just missed in a 58 at Queanbeyan. He will likely push forward and can bounce back in this company. BEAU ROCK (7) is always a chance at this level and was beaten 2L as favourite here last time. He races handy and has won 3/7 this track/distance. SINGLE BEAT (11) just missed against the above and will hit this at peak. She should manage the longer sprint and has a handy 2kg claim. Ditto LYSANDER (1), who went close here in resumption. He's a second-up winner who will enjoy the step-up in distance. Has to be considered. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Merchant Reign. |

CKC JOINERY HANDICAP 1000m
Speed assured from K'gari, Nothing Special and Baycat pressing on ahead of Shaft Attack. Tricky. LETHAL LOVE (8) debuts for Richard and Will Freedman, and his two metro trials have been sharp. The filly jumps from an inside barrier, and this is a winnable assignment. UBER IN (4) debuts and is also Sydney-trained. She just missed in a recent Warwick Farm trial, and McDougall is booked and has a sharp record with the yard. Well-bred and looks ready to go. DEE DEE EXPRESS (3) debuts for Matt Dale and has two solid trials under the saddle. Speed bred and has to be kept onside. BAYCAT (2) resumes and has switched from a smart Victorian stable. Placed her last two and has a Warwick Farm trial win under the saddle. She placed is only fresh outing. SUGGESTED PLAY: Lethal Love on what we've seen. |

BIG RIVER TRADE HUME PLATE 1600m
Brutal Eyes to take charge ahead of Bon Elton at a good tempo. PROPHET'S PROMISE (10) spiked his figures narrowly missing here over 1400m in Maiden grade. There was plenty of merit in the effort, and the mile should hold no fears. In good hands, and he can settle back and finish best. STELLAR RHONDA (14) is Sydney-trained and is likely to improve quickly at his second race start. Needed it on a heavy track at Newcastle, and she's trialled solidly in town since. Maps for a soft run today. BRUTAL EYES (6) is a leader who was tracking well before fading late here over 1400m. Some trust is required at a mile, but Penza replaces the apprentice, and she will get every chance. BON ELTON (5) led and won a Nowra Maiden, improving again. She has upside and also deserves consideration. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Prophet's Promise. |

INFINITE JOINERY PLATE 1300m
Expecting She's A Dame to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint course. Sydney-trained FELIS CHAUS (2) resumed over 1200m at Wyong and just missed for the new barn. There was plenty of merit in the effort, and before that, he'd led and wasn't beaten far in a rich feature at the Sunshine Coast. He draws the outside gate but gets McDougall and this is winnable with average luck. THE EYES HAVE IT (8) switched yards and just missed here first-up. She has plenty up her sleeve and the longer sprint will suit. SHE'S A DAME (7) debuts and is in a top Sydney stable. She's been a while coming to the races but is well-seasoned and will likely run along. The late betting will be key. WINNING RULET (9) found more like her best leading and just missing at Wyong. Fitter again, and this grade suits. Draws awkwardly, but she also has decent claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Felis Chaus. |

TOP SHELF JOINERY HANDICAP 1300m
Cosmic Ride should lead at a keen tempo. BUENOS (3) is promising and impressed when comfortably winning a CL2 here first up. Keeps the small claim, and she has more to offer. She can go back-to-back with average luck in the run. PETAWAWA (5) went close when resuming in the same race. She missed the start and charged home. Maps well and has a positive jockey switch. She has more to give and is a threat. COSMIC RIDE (7) came off the synthetic and belted the 55 graders here by 3.5L. Keeps the 2kg claim and can get into the finish. MOLTEUNO (11) didn't finish it off when placing at Nowra on a heavy track, but was a comfortable Maiden winner at Goulburn prior. She has plenty of scope for improvement and will ride the speed from an inside barrier. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Buenos. |

TAB FEDERAL BLACK MOUNTAIN 1000m
Lots of speed predominantly from Vella's Best, Starlight Girl and Princess Halo. TAKE THE RAP (5) didn't have the best of it in a 72 at Warwick Farm, beaten 2.8L. He just missed on the Acton synthetic prior in Open grade heavily bet. He can stalk the speed from the inside barrier, and presenting at peak fitness, he's the one to beat. EXTRAVAGENT LAD (2) resumes and has won 3/6 fresh. Has won this course/distance, and he owns a recent trial placing at the track. McDougall's booking suggests he's pleasing the stable. MOGO MAGIC (4) resumes and also flies fresh. He's fast and has metropolitan form that stacks right up. No surprise to see him in the finish. VELLA'S BEST (8) will skip over to the speed and tumbles in weight off his 2L win in a Moruya CL3. That brings him into it, and he can give a sight. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Take The Rap. |

TURNERS BUILDING SUPPLIES HANDICAP 1600m
Looks a decent tempo with Ronny Rock Art, Tip Top Timing and Stonecoat leading the charge. A race that's changed complexion. BURGUNDY GIRL (9) came hard beaten 1L here first-up in Open grade. She's a second-up winner suited by the step up to a mile. In a strong local barn and this is winnable. HEIR JORDAN (2) brings good form from the Acton synthetic, and he's just as effective on the turf. Drops back to the mile briefly freshened and can get into the finish. PHILADELPHIA STORM (8) won as expected in a 66 at Goulburn on a heavy track and it was an impressive effort after settling last. He's gets somewhat firmer conditions today, but has claims regardless. TIP TOP TIMING (3) maps well on a quick backup. Putting his best foot forward, he'll be around the mark SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Burgundy Girl. |
