Leading hope if things go his way. HOWITIS (1) had a very wide barrier when he resumed at Newcastle. Fitter for that and much better served by the inside draw. DOUBLE MACH (3) was beaten just over 4m when he finished fourth at his most recent outing at this circuit. Has the benefit of a good draw so is capable of a big performance. MY ULTIMATE COSSIE (7) started favourite when returning to NSW last start but was held up and finished midfield at Newcastle. Had been racing well with a string of wins and placings in Queensland prior. Gets a soft run on the inside of the second line and if gaps come he can make amends. TIGERMAC (8) is really delivering now with two wins and a nose second in his last three starts here. Overcame a draw on this row when he scored by 7.7 metres last time. Big chance again. ULTIMATE EMPIRE (1) returns to a circuit where he owns a good record and should get every chance from the inside draw.
