NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:50 Bowen Industrial Hire QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Handicap 1200m
Only a small field but there should be a solid tempo with a few unraced runners engaged. DESARAE DOLL (5) has been thereabouts in both starts this preparation and strikes a very winnable contest here. Will be ready to peak now third-up from the spell and rates the one they all have to run down. ASK ME HARRY (3) has hit the frame in both career efforts to date and looks ready for the step-up to the six-furlong journey now. Looms as the main danger. FILLYDELPHIA MISS (7) put in a career-best performance with a close-up third at Townsville last time out and may have turned the corner now. Top-three aspirations. MOONYA LAD (1) is facing the starter for the first time but has shown ability at the trials and any market support must be noted.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Desarae Doll to break through.
2 02:25 Burdekin Vet Services OPEN Handicap 1200m
Genuine tempo from Under The Limit leading Turn Bird. NORTHERN PRIDE (1) has hit the top four at his past three starts in harder company and looks to be building up to another victory. Is two from two around this circuit and should be right there when the whips are cracking. UNDER THE LIMIT (2) grows a leg for hoop Kliese who has three wins from just four steers. Rarely puts in a poor one and can make his presence felt. TURN BIRD (5) was a touch plain at the latest effort but go on the solid Mackay win two back. Can bounce right back without surprising. DILLINGER (3) will be rock-hard fit for this and may trouble the judge with any luck in running.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Northern Pride to get a well-deserved victory.
3 03:05 Filbys Motors Maiden Handicap 1000m
Oscar Booie to take charge ahead of Got This at a strong tempo. RUM RUNNER (3) will be rock-hard fit for this and gets 3kg weight relief from the inside alley. Ticks a few boxes for a race like this and rates the testing material. OSCAR BOOIE (2) strips fitter third-up from the break and gets the services of Butler in the irons. Right in the mix in this contest. GOT THIS (8) has placed three of five overall and maps well from gate two. Can earn some minor money again. The well-related CALAMARIS (5) (full to G3 winner Lanciato) will be better for that first-up effort and may make her presence felt. MINXY (6) just missed the placings in both runs before the spell and is best of the rest while fresh.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Rum Runner.
4 03:40 Bowen Tyre & Mechanical BM55 Handicap 1000m
A solid tempo on the cards with Prideofthebigfish taking charge. MADAM BORODINA (3) had been improving with racing and that culminated with a solid Home Hill win last time out. Will have taken a stack of confidence from that victory and can go back-to-back against this line-up. MELO MELO KAVA (2) has been thereabouts in both runs since joining the new stable and will be ready to peak now third-up. Should be right there at the business end. PRIDEOFTHEBIGFISH (4) was an impressive winner at the latest effort and jockey Sewell sticks in the irons. Top-three aspirations. Former NSW galloper SOUTH BULLAWAY (5) is having his first run for the new yard and any market support must be respected. MISHANI AMORE (6) best of the rest.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Madam Borodina.
5 04:15 Bowen Small Motors Class 3 Plate 1200m
Moderate tempo headed by Candlelit. ODEGAARD (7) has hit a purple patch of form of late with a win and two seconds from his past three starts and strikes a very winnable contest here. Revved up for this with a recent trial placing and should be there when the judge calls a halt. HEAD HONCHO (4) is a two-time winner over this six-furlong journey and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside marble. Rates a serious threat on best form. CANDLELIT (2) has placed one from one over this track and trip and will be at peak fitness for this. In the mix. ONE THING COUNTS (5) is having his first run for the new stable but should find this easier than what he faced when last in work. Keep very safe while fresh. ALBANIAN BAY (1) next in line.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Odegaard to continue the consistent form.
6 04:50 Grand View Hotel Class 2 Handicap 1470m
Reasonable tempo with The Eighth I Am probably leading but a few others should keep him honest. BETTER BE READY (2) couldn't have been more impressive when saluting by a whopping four lengths at Mackay last time out, and winning rider Cormack stays on top. Can go right on with the job now with confidence. BUBBLES'N'FROTH (5) has been consistent this time in work hitting the top four on all four occasions. Is one from one around this circuit and has to be included in calculations. KEEP ON RUNNING (4) returned to form with a close-up second at the latest outing and only needs some luck navigating from the sticky draw to be playing a major role in the finish. SAND 'N' POWER (11) is drawn to get a gun run in transit from the inside alley and shouldn't be discounted lightly. FANG IT (6) next best in a race with only a handful of chances.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning towards Better Be Ready.
