NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:07 IPSWICH EVENTS AND ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE Maiden Plate 2170m
Good early pace from Dawn Party, Vadamoon and Three Graces going forward to hold out some other speedy customers. BRAVE DEEL (1) is knocking on the door of a maiden victory with two consecutive runner-up finishes including one in town last time out. Should find this task easier and looks the one they all have to run down. BACKLIT BEAUTY (8) has been thereabouts in recent efforts and will be rock-hard fit for this. Looms as the main danger. DAWN PARTY (2) has been right there at the past couple and is drawn to get across easily from gate four. Top-three conveyance who should give a big sight. FIONTE (9) has placed over this staying trip and is one for the multiples. THREE GRACES (11) is stepping up sharply in distance and any market support must be noted.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Brave Deel to break through.
2 12:42 GREAT NORTHERN QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1200m
Without a noted leader engaged Best Coffee may cross from wide out and take it up. SIBELIUS (2) is unlucky to still be a maiden finishing runner-up in both runs this campaign over this trip and strips fitter third-up from the spell. Capable of troubling the judge. ENTERPRISE DEFENCE (1) has placed two of three over this distance range and gets some weight relief with the claim. In the mix. OCEAN PROUD (10) wasn't disgraced when facing the starter for the first time at Newcastle and must be respected from the Maher camp. Worth following up. MISHANI HERCULES (8) has hit the top-five in five of six starts to date and looks one for the exotics players.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Sibelius to win.
3 01:17 RAY WHITE IPSWICH QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1200m
Solid pace with Deep Dawn fending off pressure from other on-pacers engaged. CASPERNOVA (1) has just run into one better in all three outings over this journey and strikes a very winnable contest here. Gets Duric back in the irons and can give this a mighty shake. DEEP DAWN (8) resumes here but showed plenty of ability when last in work to warrant respect in a race like this. Can return in winning order. MEAN APPROACH (5) has placed around this circuit and gets the services of Orman in the saddle. Rates highly on best figures. DREAM STEP (3) is facing the starter for the first time and any market confidence must be noted.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Caspernova to shed the maiden status.
4 01:57 SCHWEPPES Class 5 Handicap 1200m
Sistine Explorer and Annakuri should lock horns early at a strong clip. LAST CHANCE SALOON (4) is a very consistent conveyance who is yet to miss the top four in nine career outings and doesn't know how to put in a poor one. Tuned up for this with a couple of recent trials and a strong showing while fresh would not surprise. ADDRIEL (7) has won two from two around this circuit and has placed two from two when first-up. Goes well for Thornton and must be respected from the Neasham camp. Looks a serious player. FIGHTING IDOL (5) didn't measure up in town last time out but the form prior was full of merit. Can bounce right back to form against this lot. SISTINE EXPLORER (9) best of the rest from the inside marble.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Last Chance Saloon to return a winner.
5 02:34 TAB Maiden Handicap 1350m
Should be a good battle early on with Pickaxe, Bring Me Saki and Majestic Teako leading the charge. PICKAXE (1) has placed two from three over this journey, draws the inside alley and gets 1.5kg off with the claim. Ticks plenty of boxes. MAJESTIC TEAKO (7) was a touch flat last time out but go on the solid second at Toowoomba two back. Worth another chance. MISS PALLADIUM (12) wasn't disgraced in town at the latest effort and hails from an astute barn. Top-three commodity. BRING ME SAKI (2) has placed in both efforts this preparation and rates a genuine contender on that form.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Pickaxe to salute.
6 03:12 THE SURE THING BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1350m
Expecting Gentle Prince to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. The well-related COLLEAGUES (4) (full to 2xG3 winner and G1 placed Annavisto) is an honest campaigner who doesn't know how to run a bad race. Has won around this circuit and gets Duric on from the favourable draw. Rates the testing material. CASROCK (10) loves this track and trip with a win and two seconds from just three attempts and will be rock-hard fit for this. Looms as a serious threat. CRAZY BRAVE (11) is yet to miss the top-five in 11 career outings and will strip fitter second-up from the spell. Top-three candidate. LADY LE DA (15) is yet to miss a drum in four first-up efforts and can run a big race while fresh. DWINDLING SPIRIT (12) has won two of his past three and is racing with a lot of confidence. Hard to discount.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Colleagues to win.
7 03:50 IMPERIAL RACING Class 1 Plate 1100m
Keen early exchange with Chayse'n'scotty likely to hold the lead off the inside draw although Thankyou Henry won't give it up easily. Looks a competitive contest. THANKYOU HENRY (7) broke the maiden tag in impressive fashion last time out and will have derived a stack of confidence from that win. Can make it back-to-back. COSTNER (6) gets the deadly Gollan/Orman combination and is yet to put in a poor effort. Top-three commodity. GREAT BARRIER REEF (2) resumes here but can run a big race while fresh. THE LIONS' GATE (4) strips fitter second-up from the break and is one for the exotics.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Thankyou Henry to win.
8 04:27 SEVEN NEWS Class 2 Handicap 1680m
No place for the faint-hearted with Whisky Train and Matsuyama getting along early. INTENTIONAL LASS (12) was a touch disappointing over this track and trip at the latest effort but the form prior was good enough to be competitive in a race like this. Gets Bayliss in the stirrups and can bounce right back to form against this lot. WHISKY TRAIN (18) wasn't disgraced in town last time out and will find this assignment much easier. Top-three candidate. SMART AS SMART (10) strips fitter second-up from the spell and may earn some minor money. MAURICE'S MEDAD (2) has placed at Group 3 level and a better showing would not surprise.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Intentional Lass to return to the winners' stall.
