Pace on from the outset with Asakusa Venus, Hawaiian Time and Jeux D'eau going forward ahead of Raconteur and Yuino Otokoyama. ASAKUSA VENUS (3) lines up for the first time since November 18. Started the last campaign impressively when in the placings over 1600m at Niigata. Hasn't scored when fresh from a break but generally races well with three minor placings. One of the genuine hopes in the race. JEUX D'EAU (9) last appeared when he finished 15th over 1600m at Tokyo Dirt on February 3. Looks a winning chance. SILVER SPADE (4) has not won for a long while. Last raced on March 24 when beaten 2.75 lengths into fourth at Chukyo over 1600m. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot return to winning ways. HAWAIIAN TIME (7) pushed forward and was a determined winner by 1.3 lengths over 1200m at Ohi last time out. Has been in great form with five wins from seven runs this preparation. Best form too good to ignore.
