Magic Maverick, Pilot Flame and Cupid's Way will be ridden positively out of their low gates so the pace will be genuine. PILOT FLAME (2) showed good speed over 1200m at Kenilworth last time but was outrun late. She is a progressive type and should have no issues with the rise to 1400m. She jumps from a good draw of two and in this field should prove hard to beat. BEAUTIFUL RANIA (4) ran a fair race when finishing fourth on debut over 1200m on this course last start. She should enjoy the extra 200m on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected should be finishing in the money. MANDATE OF HEAVEN (5) is an unraced daughter of Silvano from the Gareth van Zyl stable with Diego De Gouveia in the saddle. If not too green, she should give a good account of herself. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances. MAGIC MAVERICK (1) resumed from a spell last start and showed good improvement when finishing third over 1000m on this course. She will strip much fitter and may have more to come.
