Expecting Ashaka Taka to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sharp trip. TOSEN THUNDER (3) ran well despite being friendless in betting when resuming last time over 1200m at Nakayama, finishing third and beaten half a length at $27.40. Likely to run well again. KONA BLACK (4) was in contention all the way and fought on for third last start over 1200m at Hanshin, making it two minor placings in a row. Best figures measure up. Sure to run well. TOSEN ESCUDO (14) last raced when successful by a neck over 1200m at Kokura three months ago. Yet to win first up but generally runs well with two minor placings from four tries. Sure to make his presence felt. ASHAKA TAKA (8) resumed over 1200m at Chukyo last start and was too good for his rivals, scoring by 2 lengths. Fitter for that last hitout and he can measure up again.
