TUSCAN STAR (9) showed some improvement in her last start over this distance at Scottsville. She returns from a spell, during which time she would have strengthened up. She is a progressive type and is one of the leading contenders. ONO NO KOMACHI (7) has run two fair races to date. She should have finished closer last time as she changed ground late. With a bit of luck in running, she can run into the placings. POPLAR PARK (8) is better than her last start as she was reported to be not striding out. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She tries the 1600m and there should be good improvement to come. Each way value.
