The speedy trio Gold De Grace, One More Star and Bad Medicine can set the pace from the outset. PIONEER SQUARE (8) has produced two good runs to date. He fought on at the finish over 1400m last time but found one too good on the day. He should love the rise to 1600m and can shed his maiden tag. ONE MORE STAR (2) finished third and not too far behind the top pick last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish. OBSIDIAN (7) ran a fair race over this distance on the Inside course last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of eight, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest. THE ULTIMATE KING (9) is an unraced son of Vercingetorix from the Tony Peter stable with Chase Maujean in the saddle. If not in need of this outing, he should give a good account of himself. The betting market will be the best guide with regard to his chances
