DAVALI YEARLINGS @ CLASSIC CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 2100m
Solid tempo with Golden Smile leading from Bluebird Bay and Brilliant Knight. BLUEBIRD BAY (1) is an improving gelding who should start to hit his straps now as he gets out to his right trip. Stalked the speed when a fighting third over 1900m at Newcastle. Reece Jones sticks and expected to play a leading role. GOLDEN SMILE (4) big improver at her second run back when a tenacious on-pace second over 1900m at Newcastle. Has further upside to come and shapes as the main danger from the sticky draw. CALZINO (3) relished the extra ground when he picked them up effortlessly for a solid Maiden win over 1750m at Muswellbrook. Winning apprentice sticks and not to be underestimated. DEZIGNATION (8) is having his third career start and gives the impression he's looking for this distance range and further. Can race a little closer from the draw and take a hand in the finish. SUGGESTED PLAY: Bluebird Bay and Golden Smile can fight it out. |

THE ADVISER COLLECTIVE CG&E MAIDEN PLATE 1150m
Mega Pixel might not get things his own way up front with a few debutants engaged. MEGA PIXEL (7) comes here with race fitness on his side, and a win looks imminent. Closed strongly with the 59kg when a determined third over 1200m at Scone. Best figures should see him run well. DIRTY SUMMER (4) Dirty Work gelding from Summerfest on debut for the Jim & Greg Lee yard. Shown enough in the two trials and worth plenty of thought with Le Roux's 4kg claim and the blinkers going on. Each way. DIRTY DOES IT (3) comes here with race experience and fitness fourth-up. Closed late from the sticky gate when a solid second over 1005m at Taree. Expected to take a hand in the finish. HEROIC DEED (5) Farnan gelding out of Courage'n'kindness on debut for the Nathan Doyle yard. Two trials were only average and expect to see a better effort under race conditions. Tongue-tie goes on from the good draw. SUGGESTED PLAY: Mega Pixel finds his race. |

SPARTAN CENTRAL COAST FEB F&M MAIDEN PLATE 1150m
Not a great deal of speed on paper so it may be left to one of the debutants to roll to the front. SIEBERT (9) nice filly resuming. Failed to handle the heavy track on debut and pulled up lame when seventh to Tomato Toastie over 1200m at Warwick Farm last July. Primed for this with the two sharp trials and finds a winnable contest. VILLAINESS (11) Pierro filly from the former top race mare Musidora who has been an outstanding producer including winners at black type level. Took out her most recent trial in good style over 796m at Warwick Farm. Gets map favours and shapes as the main danger. TETSU BELLE (10) Deep Field filly resuming and now in the Nathan Doyle yard. Struggled in her three runs in Victoria and has a host of gear changes for this. Impressed in both her trials and can take a hand in the finish. BRIGHT PROMISE (13) is improving with racing and should appreciate the extra trip third-up. One for the exotics. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siebert and Villainess can fight it out. |

SHARP OFFICE COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN HANDICAP 1350m
Genuine tempo with the speedy Don't Say Do leading the way. DON'T SAY DO (2) is heading in the right direction and at her top for this fourth-up. Nailed late when second over 1308m at Taree from the awkward gate. Has a high cruising speed and will prove hard o run down with Small's 2kg claim. LINDA'S PRINCESS (6) deep into the preparation and finally draws a decent gate. Used up early from the outside gate when a fading fourth over 1308m at Taree. Can stalk the speed today and play a leading role. CORVETTE PRIDE (4) resumed with a plugging third over 1280m at Muswellbrook. Regular apprentice keeps the ride and place claims look best. PURPLE PRINCE (7) gave away a big start from the wide gate when an eye-catching sixth over 1609m at Taree. Drops in trip for this and he gets a better set-up today. Each-way. SUGGESTED PLAY: Don't Say Do can shed her Maiden status. |

NEW ZEALAND BLOODSTOCK - KARAKA 100 YEARS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1350m
Expecting Mellencamp to lead Tokyo Star at just a moderate tempo. IVY DIVA (8) appreciated the class drop when she came from near last on the turn for a dominant victory over 1300m at Narromine from the low gate. Deserves her chance at this level and can get the job done again. EMPUSA (4) bounced off her two good trials with an eye-catching fourth over 1250m at Newcastle. Returned good closing splits on that occasion and has genuine top-three claims. TOKYO STAR (3) is ready to peak fourth-up and has the speed to get across from the sticky barrier. Sat on the good tempo when a gritty fourth over 1400m at Canberra. Capable of playing a leading role. MELLENCAMP (11) has a good third-up record and proven at this track. Comes out of a strong rating contest after finishing seventh over 1300m at Scone. Keep safe. SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 8,4,3,11. |

NEW ERA TECHNOLOGY COUNTRY BOOSTED BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP 1150m
Reasonable tempo with Miss Rebel probably leading but a few others should keep her honest. MOVE SHE CAN (7) improving mare who loomed strongly on resumption before her condition gave out late when a sound second over 1005m at Taree. Jumps in trip from the good gate and should prove too good for these. ENNIROC (5) deep into his preparation and the last two runs in Highway grade have been solid. Chipped away late when seventh to Shenandoah River over 1100m at Rosehill in a strong rating contest. Leading contender. ENSIGN PARKER (2) is starting to hit his straps and is undefeated in two attempts at this course. Just over a month between runs when surging late for a game third over 1100m at Wodonga. Winning apprentice hops back on and gets every opportunity from the barrier. OUTTA DE LADY (6) country-trained gelding going better than his recent runs suggest. On the quick backup after being anchored with the 60.5kg when sixth over 1100m at Armidale. Maps well and can take a hand in the finish. SUGGESTED PLAY: Move She Can should get the job done. |

THE PRINCE OF MEREWETHER CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1200m
Solid tempo with Via Varallo to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. LORD VETTORI (3) progressive gelding who returned with a slick Maiden win over 1115m at Grafton with the 59kg. Expected to go on with it this time in and looks to have a few more wins in him this prep. Go close. HERMAN SAID (5) is having his third career start when resumed with a fast finishing third over 1000m at Tamworth. Ready for this trip and will be doing his best work late. PRIZE WRITER (4) fighting debut winner two-back, then a fading sixth over 1100m around the tight Wyong track when no match for the progressive Columbia Blue. Can turn it around from the low draw. ETOILE FILANTE (2) deep into his preparation and gives the impression he will be suited over this trip. SUGGESTED PLAY: Lord Vettori can win again. |
