NUM TIME COMMENT
1 04:45 Magic Millions National Sale starts 25 May Maiden Plate 1600m
Knuckle to take up the running at a moderate tempo. SALTBURN (5) goes on top. He presents third up having run a strong race last time out at Geelong, finding the line well over 1425m to be beaten under a length. Now gets to 1600m which will suit and he draws to sit closer in the run. CHARM NOIR (1) turned in an improved performance at Bendigo last start over 1500m, boxing on solidly for third. Maps for a nice run again here and can figure. EMPRESS OF THE SUN (6) ran a good race on debut at Kilmore, beaten just a long neck over 1457m. Can improve quickly, especially up to 1600m here with Jamie Melham going aboard. TOWNTOTOWN (9) was huge odds on debut at Sale but ran quite well and deserves to be shorter this time around.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Saltburn to win.
2 05:15 RW Advisory Group Maiden Plate (Chute) 1000m
Plenty of first starters engaged which makes it tricky to map, but we can assume a genuine tempo. THREE POINT TURN (6) ran a good race on debut over this track and distance, well supported in betting and working home nicely to finish fourth, beaten 2.5 lengths. That race experience should hold him in good stead. BOTANICAL BOY (1) is a gelding by Super Seth on debut for the Freedman yard. He's trialled nicely leading into this and although likely gets over further than the 1000m here, the stable polish must be respected. RUBY AVENUE (4) was no match for a smart winner first up at Mornington but was solid in second and has each-way claims. NEVER A THOUGHT (3) is a gelding by So You Think on debut for the Colin Scott yard. He's jumped out nicely for his home track debut and has been well supported in early markets. Wary.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Three Point Turn on top.
3 05:45 Ryan Cracknell Takes on Sportsbet Maiden Plate (Chute) 1200m
Many of these two-year-olds step out for the first time so a strong pace is anticipated. NEVERENOUGHLEGO (4) stuck on well first up at Caulfield Heath over 1000m, beaten under two lengths in what looks a handy race. He showed promise against strong opposition in two runs last time in and looks suited getting to 1200m from a soft draw with Shinn on. BERMONDSEY (2) resumes for the Reece Goodwin yard. He tackled a pair of good races in his maiden campaign and was close up on both occasions. Should take beating. VEOMAS (7) resumes. He was well supported on debut at Listed level but struggled and was well beaten. Can be a quick improver this time around. PLANET RED (6) is a gelding by Admire Mars on debut for the Price & Kent Jnr yard who have an outstanding record with newcomers here. Keep safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Neverenoughlego to win.
4 06:15 Sheen Panel Service Pakenham Maiden Plate (Chute) 1200m
Expecting Champagne Wishes to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint course. PRESOCRATICS (7) narrowly on top in a tricky race. He ran well first up off a six-month break at Kilmore, beaten three lengths into fourth. Second up last time in he was beaten a nose and with the added fitness under the belt, he should track the speed and take beating. BJARNE (3) has been sound in two runs to date, fourth in a strongly run race at Bendigo last time out. Won't need to improve much to be figuring prominently. NEPELA (6) is a well-bred gelding by Exceed And Excel out of G2 winner Tenley. He debuts off the back of some solid jump outs and draws nicely. Must respect. CHAMPAGNE WISHES (9) resumes. She struggled on debut at Seymour but has trialled well leading in and could improve quickly. MARINE GRADE (5) is a gelding by Merchant Navy on debut for the Mick Kent yard who can run well.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Presocratics on top.
5 06:45 Eliza Anders Takes On Sportsbet Class 1 Handicap (Chute) 1100m
Cyclone Coco should find the front with Betwitchery and Diamond Indaruf on his heels. BETWITCHERY (4) is racing well, a maiden winner first up before a good effort at Caulfield Heath, showing early speed and sticking on well for fourth, beaten 1.5 lengths. Back to 1100m here from the inside draw, she'll take a power of catching. DIAMOND INDARUF (6) broke through for a decisive maiden win at Bendigo last time out, scoring by 2.25 lengths. She can roll forward and measure right up here. KAMEZALI (5) resumes having gone to the paddock as a maiden winner at Stony Creek. Can improve again with a spell under the belt and prove hard to beat. BACK TO THE FUTURE (3) is going okay and can figure on an each way basis while DEEP JOY (8) can bounce back off a poor run at Seymour.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Bewitchery to win.
6 07:15 Community Bank Drouin & District BM64 Handicap (Chute) 1200m
Hollywood Ace has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. JAKIVY (7) is flying, winning his past two starts, both over this route. He proved too strong in a strongly run Class 1 last time out and draws nicely here. Hard to knock in this sort of form and can win again. ZOUPER FUND (4) is a lightly raced type who is progressing well, winning two of three this time in. He only won a BM58 last time but can improve and draws nicely. HOLLYWOOD ACE (8) resumes. She's a speedy mare who wasn't beaten far in second when fresh last time in. She'll roll forward and prove hard to catch. GWAN SO (1) ran well fresh in a BM70 first up at Caulfield Heath despite starting 100-1. The rise to 1200m suits and he comes under notice now. ADRETT (6) resumes having found form last time in. Goes well fresh and is in the mix.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Jakivy on top.
7 07:45 Bon Hoysted Apprentices Cup 1400m
Just a modest tempo anticipated. QUEEN OF TUSCANY (5) is knocking on the door with three consecutive second placings in a row, stepping up to BM70 grade at Cranbourne and finding the line well. Comes back a notch here and should be hard to hold out. LOWLANDS (12) was heavily supported at Warrnambool when given a positive ride from a wide gate. She's racing well and the booking of well-established apprentice Jaylah Kennedy is a positive in this apprentice-only race. SEYDOUX (1) will find this easier than recent runs in stronger grades. She ran well enough at Sale last time to think she can give a sight here. RICH LOVER (6) was solid last time at Wangaratta in fourth and should get a nice spot just behind the pace. THE MAGGSTAR (2) is coming off a good win in easier grade and can measure up.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Queen Of Tuscany on top.
8 08:15 Armour Consulting 0 - 64 Handicap 1600m
Reasonable tempo with Royal Hill probably leading but a few others should keep him honest. FEELING DUSTY (4) is a lightly raced 4yo who has come back well, winning his maiden here first up over 1400m before charging late to just miss at Sale over 1511m from a wide draw, beaten a nose. Drawn wide again here but steps up in trip again which will suit and can continue to improve. LYGON STREET LUIGI (2) struggles to win but ran well fresh at Geelong when beaten a head into second. Should be fitter for the rise in trip and has the ability to take this out. PERU (1) has been okay in two runs back from a spell, not far away in a much stronger Mornington Guineas last time out at 100-1. Has to be considered in this company. PLATINUM DESTROYER (5) was good fresh at Bendigo and can improve.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Feeling Dusty to win.
