DONA AMALIA (8) made a nice return at her latest appearance nine days ago, working early before finishing third in this grade at Charlton. Can settle just behind them and wait on the sprint lane. Fitter and races well at this circuit and distance so can progress. MONTANA CHEVELLE (7) overcame a tough draw for a Maryborough win last month and has produced some decent efforts since including a placing here and a fourth from this barrier at Ballarat. Draws wide but has winning claims with even luck. MAGIC LAW (2) draws well and could be ready to peak after finishing runner-up in two of three starts so far this campaign. CHRISTMAS BABE (3) draws better than when fifth last start. Can be competitive.
