Solid tempo likely from the outset with Controversial Miss and Smuggler's Bay prominent. BIG DAY OUT (4) backs up eight days after failing in the rich Wagga Town Plate over 1200m. Best form comes at this distance with an incredible 25 top-three finishes to his name. Albury form is also impressive, with 8/11 podium finishes. Well in after the claim so he is ideally placed to bounce back to form. VAINSTREAM (12) is a new acquisition for the Todd Smart stable and is fresh from a ten-week break. Decent open class sprinter who looks ready for a strong return judging by his second in a recent Canberra trial. SMUGGLER'S BAY (5) raced handy but tired late under a big weight over this distance at Cranbourne most recently. Has seven wins from 18 tries at this distance so from a nice gate he deserves another chance. SHEILA (11) will appreciate the weight relief after a couple of plain efforts of late under big imposts. Maps nicely from this gate so don't leave her out. NIPOTINO (13) will be better for this run but is a top-four hope off a brief spell. SUGGESTED PLAY: Big Day Out is a nice each-way option.
