Plenty of early pace from The Dabble Effect and Colmar, with the added uncertainty surrounding the strong contingent of unraced runners engaged. KARAVAS (3) was far from her best last start in the Breeders' when flattening out in the lane. She's much better than that run suggests and the blinkers on first time should have her sharpened. Expecting a big bounce back. SYMPHONY OF COLOUR (4) was right there and had the nose in front to take out The Showdown at Caulfield, only to be caught on the line by what looks a smart one. Lane goes back on and is drawn perfectly. Sure to take some beating. FLYER (5) was the eye-catcher in the Breeders', working home strongly from the back to fill the frame. Is drawn to take much closer order for Williams and should be very competitive. THATS ARCHIES GIRL (11) steps out on debut for the Hays brothers and was a smart Bendigo trial winner in readiness. Kah piloting warrants respect. SUGGESTED PLAY: Giving Karavas one more go.
