Has upside and looks a genuine contender. |

Likely improver with strong prospects. MARIA LA GORDA (5) returns after 11 weeks in the paddock. Closed the last campaign with a sixth over 1160m at Turffontein Standside. Bold showing expected. BABY RED (10) finished second, beaten 4 lengths, when resuming from a spell. Has since finished 11th here over the weekend. On the quick back-up but better than latest and worth another chance. STORM BALLET (7) raced below her best last time when tenth over 1160m at Turffontein Standside, beaten 14 lengths. Suitably placed so anticipating a better run this time. |

On the quick back-up and worth another chance. CHICKASAW (6) is an improving filly who went close here last time and looks suited by the extra ground. Top chance. HAT AND HEELS (10) is on the quick back-up and can do much better. |

TEXAS MISSILE (6) is an improving colt who has won two of four starts including only try course and distance. Has good upside and worth following up. ONE MORE STAR (8) turned in a big run last time despite missing the frame, finishing a narrow fourth. Hard to hold out again. ROYAL EDITION (1) wasn't far away last time in a race that was too sharp. Extra trip a plus and gets chance to bounce back. FLASHY APACHE (7) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a nice race last time out, finishing third and beaten only a neck over 2000m at this track. Well placed and should be about the money. |

POBLANO (2) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a strong race last time out, finishing second and beaten only 0.3 lengths over 1160m at Turffontein Standside. Working back into form in easier races and looks nicely placed to feature in the finish. BOSUM BUDDY (4) did a great job to score by a long neck over today's course and distance when resuming from a break last time out. Likely to be there at the finish again. CAROLINE ISLAND (6) returned from a spell a week-and-a-half ago when she was beaten 3 lengths into fourth over 1000m at this track. Strips fitter and can find the winner's circle. ROAMING SPIRIT (3) hasn't been far away lately, beaten 1.4 lengths at her most recent outing when fourth over 1000m at this track. Should be poised just off the lead. Not to be discounted. |

DEAL MAKER (1) was comfortably accounted for when seventh last start over 1000m at Turffontein Standside, beaten 3 lengths after being in contention on the corner. That followed a good first-up win at this track. Has started four times at this course and distance and is yet to miss the placings. Nicely placed to play a pivotal role. PLUMBAGO PARK (6) produced a reasonable effort when second last start over 1000m at this track, beaten half a length. That followed a win at Turffontein Inside the start prior. Finds a suitable race and can return to the winner's circle. TEMPRANILLO (7) registered a strong win two runs ago then turned in a nice run last time out when sixth over 1000m at this track, beaten 2.75 lengths. Worth another chance. |

ORIENTAL BOUQUET (9) was in the money two starts back at this track but couldn't back it up last time when 13th, beaten 6 lengths, at Turffontein Standside over 1000m. Better than last run and tends to go much better here. Can take this out. MISTY METAL (1) ran a better race last start, finishing 2 lengths away in fifth over 1200m at this track. Has her share of talent and is a top-three prospect. |

Looks well placed and she is one of the main chances. SHEETS AND GOGGLES (3) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start when she settled well back over 1600m at this track, beaten 2.75 lengths into fifth. Finds the right race this time and can take this out. COMMANDER OF ALL (9) produced a better run last start, beaten 1.75 lengths into fourth over 1400m at this track. Suitably placed so can turn things around. |

CONTINENTAL KING (8) was a most impressive winner last time out over 1160m at Turffontein Standside, putting 4 lengths on his nearest rival. Will appreciate the drop in the weights. Has been in sound form this prep with a win and a placing from three starts. Expected to be in the finish. LAUGHING WILLIAM (7) finished third last start at the first run back from a spell over 1400m at Turffontein Standside, beaten 1.5 lengths. Meets a stronger field but he is up to the task. FOSTINOVO (5) finished second when resuming two runs back at Turffontein Standside then progressed nicely last time out to score by a long neck as public elect over 1400m at Turffontein Standside. Looks well placed so expect another big run. |
