1 11:45 4RACING WELCOMES YOU MAIDEN PLATE 1160m
VIBE SA (1) produced a good first run for the Tony Peter stable. He ran on well to finish second. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The blinkers have been re-fitted and he can go one better. HALCYON (10) produced a promising debut effort over this course and distance, finishing second of nine. He raced from just off the pace and stayed on well at the finish. He would have gained from the experience and with Gavin Lerena in the saddle rates well as a leading chance. FLIGHT ENGINEER (9) is a first-starter by Lancaster Bomber from Mary Hinge who has been a fine producer including winners at black type level. Hails from the strong juvenile stable of A P Peter. PRESSONREGARDLESS (2) is back after a break of three-and-a-half months. At the last run before the layoff he finished eighth over 1600m at Kenilworth. Nicely placed and fresh-up can figure in the finish.

WHAT A LUCY (2) produced an encouraging comeback run over 1000m on the Vaal Classic course when finishing third of 11. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. She meets the right field and may find herself in the winner's enclosure. INTRO (9) was disappointing in her last start over this course and distance. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. If finding the form of her penultimate run, she should be involved at the finish. ICE CAP (3) ran a fair race in her last start over 1400m at the Vaal. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. Piere Strydom may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her when it matters most. FOLLOW THE SUN (4) produced three fair efforts before given a spell. She jumps from pole position and if not in need of the run she can finish in the money.

VISIONOFPEACE (5) was disappointing in her last start over 1200m on the Inside course. She won a game race on debut over 1160m on this course. She will love the rise to 1400m. She would have strengthened up during her time off the track and from her good draw of three can return to winning form. VJ'S ANGEL (6) was a beaten odds-on favourite in her last start over 1160m on this course. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back. TOO LATE MY MATE (3) stayed on well when fourth of nine over 1600m last time. Drops in distance and can return to form. FROZEN FANTASY (1) impressed when successful on debut over 1200m at Turffontein Inside last start when sent out at long odds. Has plenty of upside and should go on with it.

He is a progressive type and can go one better. TOP SEED (9) is an unraced son of Legislate from the Mike de Kock stable with Craig Zackey in the saddle. If not in need of this outing, she may find herself in the winner's enclosure. ANGEL OF MY HEART (2) ran a decent race in her last start over 1700m at the Vaal. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will like the rise to 2000m. KISS OF FIRE (5) turned in a decent effort last start to finish second over 1600m at Turffontein Inside. Looks well placed in this line-up so expecting another big run. TEO TORRIATTE (1) should have finished closer last time as she hung in the final 300m. She finished second in her only attempt over this course and distance. She is back racing against her own sex and has each-way claims.

VIVA BRAZIL (3) is a talented colt who tackled a tougher grade last time. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he can notch up his fourth-career victory. UNITED COUNCIL (2) is better than his last start run would suggest. He has won twice and finished third once from seven starts on this course. If putting his best foot forward, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest. TWENTY DRACHMA'S (6) was in the money two back at this track then met stiffer opposition last time when 11th over 2450m in the G1 SA Derby at this track. Can play a big role in the finish. MAMBO COME TESIO (8) has been about the mark of late. Last time out was one length from the winner in second over 2400m at this track. Likely to push forward and race up on the pace. Not to be discounted.

If not in need of this outing, he can finish in the placings. COSMIC STAR (7) has put together a couple of wins at this course, the latest over 1160m when he got home by 1.3 lengths. Ideally placed and should finish in the money. POCKET WATCH (3) was responsible for a better run last start when finishing fourth over 1450m at Turffontein Inside. Finds a nice race and can atone.
