Little early pressure with Balmierro and Kings Valley prominent. BALMIERRO (7) has worked home evenly without posing a threat in his two runs this prep, the latest here in a comparable maiden. Suited by the small field and he strips fitter today. Gets his chance. UK import KINGS VALLEY (1) made late ground to get up for third in his Australian debut over this course and distance a fortnight ago. Should enjoy a lovely run from this draw so it will be no surprise to see him go a couple better. PHYSICIST (2) caught the eye in the concluding stages on debut recently over 1350m at Wyong. Will be hard to hold out over the extra furlong. KOTAISHI (3) beat some of today's main rivals home in a maiden here two weeks back. Must be included. GLEBE (6) should settle closer to the speed today and at the third run back she can improve sharply. SUGGESTED PLAY: A small bet on Balmierro at nice odds.
