Plenty of early speed in this field so they should hit the ground running. LEAD THE CHARGE (2) stayed on well at the finish over 1200m at the Vaal last time, but found one too good on the day. He is a progressive type and will like the rise to 1450m. From pole position, he should be the one to beat. MESSALINA (9) has finished third in her last three starts. She was unlucky last time as she had to change ground running room with 150m to run. Has each-way claims. ZIP CODE (8) showed pace when finishing third on debut over 1160m on the Standside course last start. He would have gained from the experience and if seeing out the extra distance on offer should make the natural improvement needed. SERRANO (6) was in need of his debut effort over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course last start. With the natural progression that is expected he should finish in the money.
