Moderate tempo with Jungle Jet leading the way and a few others keeping in touch. THE HINDUSTAN (5) started favourite when last start 2nd in Maiden at this track over 1690m on heavy ground. The 3yo gelding by Savabeel steps up in distance here and holds a Queensland Derby nomination. Should be aided by the 1.5kg claim of apprentice Emily Lang and looks a genuine chance here. JUNGLE JET (3) also holds a Derby nomination and has been knocking on the door of a win with runner-up finishes at his past two starts. Gets his chance from barrier one. WHISKEY TOWER (10) steps up in distance after her last-start fifth as favourite in 1710m Grafton maiden. Blinkers on for this and can make presence felt. THE IRISH (2) has placed in three of his four starts and will be fitter for this off his 2nd in 1600m Sunshine Coast maiden last start when resuming from a spell. Must include among the better chances. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with The Hindustan.
