T M FONTE (1) was a beaten favourite but still good when third last time out at this track and trip, beaten 3.2 lengths. That followed a win at this track at the previous outing. Shinsuke Ishikawa is a key engagement. Aided by the inside draw. Leading player. LORD MIDNIGHT (7) lines up on the back of a 3.7 lengths fourth over at this course and distance. Good to finish second prior. A bold showing is expected. TAIKI MAXWELL (6) showed good early speed and raced on the pace last start before boxing on to finish fourth. Better suited at this journey having won three of four attempts at it here. DAIMEI SEVEN (3) draws well and could be an improver.
