Genuine pace with Brilliant Venture taking up the running ahead of I Am The Empire and Superstock. I AM THE EMPIRE (7) ran a good race first up at Bendigo having previously campaigned in Queensland. He was big odds there but did well to finish second, beaten a head. Fitter for that and the extra 200m looks ideal from the soft draw. NEW YORK HURRICANE (3) broke through for his fifth career win at Bendigo last time out in this grade and comes here on the quick turnaround. Won well there and will be hard to hold out if he can bring it to town. GOTTABESAVVY (6) is racing well. He's back slightly in trip but will be hard to hold out if the tempo is on. SUPERSTOCK (12) was just fair at Sandown Lakeside last time but had been good here prior over 1600m. MOVEFORLEX (1) is racing well and should go close with any luck from the gate.
