Slick pace with Shirakami Impulse finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. SHIRAKAMI IMPULSE (1) debuted with a win two runs ago. Good effort last time out when prominent at the bend before winding up in second over 1600m at Morioka Dirt, beaten a neck. Has his share of talent and gets the inside draw. Hard to beat. LOVE CORAGEM (5) started at $5.60 last time and ran below expectations but was going well prior with a win and two placings from the previous three runs. This doesn't look as hard so he can find the winners' list. LOVE ME CANNES (6) was sixth at $2.40 last start but was going well prior. Should be poised just off the lead. Winning claims on best figures. MALLEOLUS (8) recorded a string of top-three finishes before the latest attempt and won the only time he raced here.
