Placebo to take charge ahead of Dark Mode at a solid tempo. DARK MODE (1) displayed plenty of early toe and went on to score by 2 lengths last time out over 2000m at Kawasaki. Meeting a deeper field this time but he is good enough to play a major role. ARC BOLT (3) was always well out of his ground when fifth in a 2000m contest at Kawasaki three-and-a-half weeks ago. Taking on a better line-up this time but he has the ability to mix it with them. PLACEBO (5) raced on the speed from the outset and went to score by a neck last time over 1800m at Monbetsu. Form this campaign has been strong with three wins to his credit. Shapes as one to consider. SHADOW ISLE (2) last appeared seven-and-a-half weeks ago over 1800m at Niigata Dirt when he finished 14th. This is his first run for the Tsutomu Tanaka stable. Better placed.
