Anticipating good pressure with many of these facing the starter for the first time. RISE COMPANIONS (2) was beaten as an odds-on favourite when making his debut, and then was not too far away at Ellerslie after that before being put aside to mature again. He resumes as a lightly tried 5-year-old gelding. He has a good draw and can set the record straight this time. ROLLING STONE (3) resumes from a spell and will be a lot stronger this season. He showed talent early on in his initial campaign, and with Craig Grylls in the saddle, he will be among the hardest to beat. CAPTAIN STAN (1) showed ability in his initial campaign and was the fav in 4 of his 6 starts. He has trialled and can't be underestimated. GLACIAL STORM (12) has had plenty of trial experience and only needs some luck from a tricky gate to be an each-way threat in this. Check the markets. SUGGESTED PLAY: In another even field, we side with Rise Companions on top.
