Small field but a good tempo is expected with Candlelit, Sennaprost and Spirit Of Mac pressing on. RONS FINEST CHOICE (3) followed an unplaced effort first-up two runs back with a third last start over 1250m at Cairns after being in contention on the turn. Has his share of talent and will prove hard to beat in this suitable race. KATHY'S ROSE (5) strode forward early from her wide draw last start over 1050m at Rockhampton only to fade late and finish fifth. Expected to be in this for a long way. CANDLELIT (2) is close to breaking through, last start finishing just a nose away in second over 1400m at Townsville. Will be handy in running despite the tricky draw. Going up a level this time but he cannot be left out. SENNAPROST (1) returned from a spell two-and-a-half weeks ago when he was prominent at the turn before being beaten 4 lengths into fifth over 1100m at this track. Strips fitter and should be thereabouts. SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with Rons Finest Choice.
