VERA LANE (1) is a progressive filly who scored a second-up win at Bendigo then progressed again when scoring by close to 6m at this circuit and distance. Race fit and the ace draw should give her every chance to land the hat trick. IJUSTCALLEDTOSAY (7) suffered his first defeat at his fourth start here last time but still performed well, pushing to the front before sticking on for second to Vera Lane. Draws wider but has more upside than many of these. VYTIS (10) started favourite when resuming but manners let him down. He was a G1 winner last season and won his lone second-up attempt so is a player if he gets it right. SKY FLAIR (4) is hard to knock having added to a string of top-two finishes by coming from the back row to score here last start. MYSTERY FRED (6) returns to the front row and recorded a win and two seconds the last three times he started from there.
