www.caperacing.co.za MR 78 HANDICAP 1600m

Track: SOFT   Rain (Max: 11)

With no recognised leader engaged it might be left to Douglas, Silent War and Portrayal to control the tempo. There's some well-related gallopers amongst this lot. VAN HUNKS (2) (full to a G1 winner) has placed two from three over this mile journey and will strip fitter second-up from the spell. Should be right there when the whips are cracking. SILENT WAR (1) (half to two x G3 winners) has a handy record around this circuit with a win and five placings from ten starts and rarely puts in a bad effort. Has to be considered. NIGHT RULER (3) (half to a four-time G1 winner) is improving with racing and looks to be nearing another victory. In the mix on best form. CAPTIVE MOON (5) is drawn to get a cushy run from the inside alley and is a must for the multiples. DOUGLAS (7) (half to two x G3 winners) broke the maiden status last time out and will take a lot of confidence from that victory. In the mix.
