NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:08 123TRAVEL QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1600m
Atomic Time and Mr Democrat to take it up. ATOMIC TIME (2) is unlucky to still be a maiden hitting the top-four in six of seven starts to date and strikes a very winnable contest here. Has placed around this circuit and looks the one they all have to run down. HE'S GOT GRUNT (4) is improving with racing and must be respected out of the Archibald barn. At peak fitness now and looms as the main danger. MR DEMOCRAT (6) has been just behind the placings of late and looks one for the exotics players. TAPAGAL (11) next in line from the inside alley.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Atomic Time to break the maiden status.
2 01:43 TRAVIS SCHULTZ & PARTNERS BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 2200m
Up And Comer and Hell Of A Prince to battle for the leading role. UP AND COMER (5) brings NSW formlines to the table and should find this assignment a touch easier than what she has been facing down south. Gets Maloney in the saddle and rates the testing material against this line-up. LA GRACIA (7) is still a maiden but has been right there in all five outings this preparation and looks to be knocking on the door of a maiden victory. Capable of a strong showing. DEMARCAY (1) has placed over this track and trip, draws low and gets a stack of weight relief with the 3kg claim. Ticks a few boxes. The well-related LOYALTY COUNTS (2) (half to G3 winner and G1 placed Arabian Summer) best of the rest.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 5,7,1,2.
3 02:18 CIVIL SCAPES QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1000m
Many of these step out for the first time so a genuine tempo is expected. Tricky race to assess with a few of these facing the starter for the first time. POCKET DIAL (7) is one of them but has shown ability winning two recent trials and is sure to be well-educated out of the Gollan barn. Gets Maloney on top to navigate from the sticky draw and a strong showing on debut would not surprise. MISHANI VISION (13) hit the frame at Ipswich on debut and will have derived a bunch of benefit from that race day experience. Can feature with natural improvement. LUMINOUS GIRL (14) was well in the betting on debut and where there's smoke there's fire. Keep very safe. STRIKE WEAPON (11) strips fitter second-up from the break and may earn some minor money.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Pocket Dial.
4 02:53 MUIR DEVELOPMENTS Maiden Plate 1600m
In a race devoid of early speed Elrond is the most likely to find the front. The well-related HIGHGROVE ROSE (15) (half to G2 winner Not An Option) is on the doorstep of a maiden victory with consecutive runner-up finishes this time in work and this is not an overly strong affair. Draws the inside marble and should be right there when the whips are cracking. ELROND (4) is yet to miss a drum in four spins around this circuit and will be rock-hard fit for this. Looms as the main danger. EXPRESS STAR (5) has placed three of five overall and gets some weight off with the 1.5kg claim. Top-three candidate. CLENCH (3) has been readied for the return with a trial and is worth including.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Highgrove Rose to break through.
5 03:30 WILD HORSE TURF RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1600m
Little early speed on offer so Battlespace should be prominent. SAVVY BEE (14) doesn't win of turn but has placed around this circuit and is usually thereabouts. Will be rock-hard fit for this and should be right there at the business end. BATTLESPACE (12) saves his best form for this mile journey with a win and a second from just three attempts. Will be cherry-ripe now and is sure to give a great sight. BLONDE ON BLONDE (8) strips fitter second-up from the spell and must be respected out of the Vandyke camp. Top-three contender on best form. PRIDE OF SAVABELLA (4) was a touch plain last time out but go on the solid win over this course and distance two back. Worth another chance. BOLSHEVIC ROAD (7) rounds out the selections in a wide open contest.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 14,12,8,4.
6 04:10 RESI HOMES BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1400m
Strong tempo assured from Sir Goldalot and Okesutora leading the charge. Competitive affair to close out the card. SIRKEL (11) returned in fine fashion saluting at Doomben before just missing the frame in a harder race there last time out. Sure to find this assignment much more to her liking and will be right there when the judge calls a halt. NIGHTSTICK (5) has placed two from three over this track and trip and will be high on confidence following that last-start Rockhampton victory. Rates among the leading contenders. Former Victorian SOUTHERN MONEY (16) will strip fitter second-up from the break and should find this easier than what she faced down south. Can feature with natural improvement. Last-start placegetter DOWNEY (4) hasn't missed the top three in three tries at this distance and draws for a soft run.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning towards Sirkel.
