NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:19 Meeniyan Hotel Maiden Plate 1100m
Anticipating good pressure with many of these facing the starter for the first time. LOTTA CITY (9) jumped out well and found one better at Pakenham on debut. Has upside, and this is a touch easier. Strips fitter and she can go one better. GREAT FUEGO (7) missed a whisker at Kyneton over 1400m, making sharp improvement. Comes back to the shorter sprint freshened and has been kept up to the mark with a winning jumpout. Draws out, but expect the Hayes-trained galloper to finish hard. CHAMPAGNE EXPRESS (5) resumes and was nudged out at Sandown-Lakeside at her only fresh outing. Went close there before the spell, and her jumpouts suggest she's right on song. SWEET FARNAN (12) did a good job for a resuming second and can progress off that.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Lotta City.

Genuine tempo from Crespiano leading Neck High. CRESPIANO (7) just missed at Pakenham on debut and then led again on resumption at Tatura and just missed. Strips fitter and is nicely placed to take this out. IMPONDERABLE (11) jumped out well and then went close at Kilmore on debut. Better for the run, and she's also in good hands and will keep improving. NECK HIGH (3) disappointed last time but was headed in the right direction prior. Peaks on a 7-day return and will position forward from the inside barrier. Well in the mix. NEWCOMBE (4) was beaten 3.3L last time over 1600m at Caulfield Heath and went well enough at the provincials prior. This grade suits better, and he maps for a soft run.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Crespiano.
3 02:29 91.3 SEN Track Maiden Plate 2100m
Genuine pace with Winter Wren taking up the running ahead of No Savings and Sierra Sun. NO SAVINGS (10) has put together back-to-back placings, the latest when just missing over 1900m at Traralgon when she was handy all the way. Suitably placed and anticipating another big run. PLAY IT COOL (4) had been well educated and on debut and wasn't beaten too far over a mile at Wodonga. He looks promising and kept on the fresh side, can play a leading role. YOU ROWER (3) may be the best of the remainder. Resumes and been well prepared. Well-bred and may be running into it. SIERRA SUN (2) has put a series of top-four finishes together and from this draw can continue that consistency.  SUGGESTED PLAY: No Savings to break through.
4 03:04 Meeniyan Service Centre 0-56 Handicap 2100m
Anything But should be able to comfortably find the front. LAYBUY (6) led and won comfortably over 1750m at Geelong and then followed with a 1.3L defeat at Tatura over 1980m, racing handy. Keeps the 2kg claim and may control the race. Fitter again and will take catching. MASH AND GRAVY (11) is hard-fit, and his effort at Warrnambool two back would see him competitive in race that has been weakened by scratchings. CUBAN DAWN (1) deserved the last-start maiden win to follow a string of consistent efforts. Freshened since but has trialled and could go on with it. MARLIN (3) was solid as favourite last time and has placed in two of three attempts at this course and distance. CIRCA (5) won't be far away.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Laybuy.
5 03:39 Thank you Stephen Bradford 0-56 Handicap 1600m
Thank God I Gothim should find the front with Bookman and Jakk's Fortune on his heels. TRINITY'S D'ORO (9) has been beaten a whisker three times since the Moe win. Has a handy 2kg claim and has the early speed to clear the awkward barrier. Nicely placed to go one better. RICKY RUNS (3) is close to breaking through, and 12 days ago was beaten a whisker over this trip at Ararat. Fitter again and is a live chance. DOUGAL MCKEEN (5) found more like his best beaten a short head at Traralgon over 1430m. Holding that form would be in the finish and has been kept on the fresh side. BOOKMAN (4) shouldn't be underestimated and won't be far away.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Trinity's D'Oro.
6 04:14 Ladbrokes Fillies & Mares 0-56 Handicap 1100m
Eastern Odyssey should lead at a slick tempo. SHANGHAI VENTURE (2) disappointed two back at Geelong, but the form around that reads strongly. Went well in a metro 80 three back and was nudged out at this level at Kyneton last time. Can race forward and finds the right race. DOMINANT MISS (6) ran his best race beaten less than 2L in the same contest. Needs some luck pushing forward but can get into the money today. TRAK CHILLER (3) resumes and didn't come up last preparation. He showed enough early doors to say this is winnable if she's presented on song. The betting will be key. CHARMING DI (4) made good improvement, delivering a 52 at Bairnsdale a month ago. This is a bit harder, but winning form is good form in a moderate contest.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Shanghai Venture.
7 04:54 WIN Network Colts, Geldings & Entires 0-56 Handicap 1100m
Reasonable tempo with Foggy Bottom probably leading but a few others should keep him honest. Tough. ELLMAKNIFICO (13) made progress last start to finish second over 1200m at Bairnsdale. Has been briefly freshened and would only have to hold that form to go close. Another forward showing is anticipated. WARMOSA (11) resumes and has some relatively decent pieces of form in stronger company. Has placed 2/4 fresh and has looked tuned-up at the Pakenham jumpouts. The betting will be key. EPICUS (6) got too far back at Hamilton, but his Traralgon effort prior reads well enough. Has to be considered. MAGIC DRUM (1) wasn't beaten far at Traralgon well in the market. Drops back to a shorter sprint on the fresh side and will get his chance in this line-up. ADIURO (2) draws wide but will be around the mark, building on the Maiden win.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Ellmaknifico.
