Scotchmans Hill F&M Maiden Plate 1600m
Expecting Marine Empress to lead Sloane Raider at just a moderate tempo. Hard to see how they beat MARINE EMPRESS (3) who should be deep into the red. Three career runs to date are all good enough to win this, resuming in a tougher maiden at Caulfield Heath as favourite, working home well for second. She'll strip fitter now, is suited to 1600m and with even luck should be winning. GOOD HARMONY (9) is the biggest threat. She just missed two back at Pakenham over 1400m, beaten at $1.65 on deteriorating ground there last time. Have to forgive that and she does draw softly. MACCA'S ANGEL (10) might be an improver getting up in trip. She was okay at Ballarat last time and can improve third up. SATIRICA (7) resumes off a long spell. Watch the betting for the new yard. STARTIN'SUMTHIN' (11) was well beaten on debut at Geelong but will be an improver up in trip. SUGGESTED PLAY: Marine Empress to win. |

Wyndham City Council Maiden Plate 1100m
Anticipating good pressure with many of these at the races for the first time. WRENLEE (5) resumes for his second campaign. The debut run over 1000m at Cranbourne was very good when just missing before perhaps finding 1200m in town a bridge too far last time. He should be an improver this time around in a winnable race. NEVILLE BARTOS (4) is a King's Legacy gelding on debut for the Hayes yard. He was given a solid hitout and won a Seymour jump out a few weeks ago in preparation for this. Drawn well and can figure. TENNESSEE SONG (13) is a filly by American Pharoah on debut for the Dabernig yard. She's jumped out well and Meech is booked from the inside gate which is noteworthy. BRINSON (9) is a filly by I Am Immortal on debut for the Kennewell yard who looked good winning a recent trial at Caulfield Heath. Tricky draw but looks sharp and can win. SUGGESTED PLAY: Wrenlee on top. |

Tobin Brothers 3YO Maiden Plate 1000m
Anticipating good pressure with many of these lining up for the first time. ALPHABET (3) resumes having run a strong race on debut at Cranbourne in a handy 2yo maiden back in May, in the market there off a smart trial win but just finding one better. Expecting improvement this time around for the top yard having won another trial leading in. STARBURST (11) is a filly by Magnus on debut for the McEvoy yard. She's had a couple of trials and went well before winning a recent jumpout at Flemington. She should be ready to go for the strong yard. SET ME LOOSE (10) is three-year-old filly by Hanseatic making her debut. Won a jump-out at Geelong. Respect any support. STERNIN (12) is lightly raced and worth keeping safe fresh. SUGGESTED PLAY: Alphabet to win. |

Dylan Wight MP & John Lister MP Maiden Plte 1400m
Aloisi to take up the running at a moderate tempo. CUSHIONED (10) is a filly by Ghaiyyath on debut for the Freedman yard. She's jumped out well enough on a few occasions and should be ready to go for the top stable. ROGUE WARRIOR (7) hit the line well fresh at Kilmore over 1200m and will appreciate rising in trip here. He's open to improvement at just his third start and has claims. EMANATING (11) is knocking on the door with back to back minor placings. She was sound in third last time at Geelong and should be running on well. ALOISI (4) was solid on debut with scope to improve. SUGGESTED PLAY: Cushioned to kick off with a win. |

Global Turf BM66 Handicap 1400m
Genuine tempo from Highlands leading Princess Toro. IMPENDING WAR (6) resumes here with a nice profile. He won his first two starts in the country impressively before being pitched up to a good 2yo race at Flemington, holding his ground behind Buccleuch who won the final of that series dominantly next time out. He lands in a good spot from the gate here and might just have a bit more upside than these. PRINCESS TORO (12) was in the market but struggled last time at Geelong. Her previous form was rock solid for this, she can bounce back. LETHAL THOUGHTS (1) needs another win but his past two haven't been bad and he should get a good run here. He's probably past it, but his best would go close. DIDN'T MISS MANY (8) struck tough conditions first up at Pakenham and can be forgiven. He'll be fitter anyway and his form last time in was solid for this. SUGGESTED PLAY: Impending War to win. |

Roderick Insurance Brokers BM66 Handicap 1600m
Moderate pace with Itsukushima taking up the running ahead of Skycatcher and Williamstown. SKYCATCHER (3) clearly on top. He was having his first run in Australia for the Price & Kent Jnr yard art Pakenham and ran out a tough winner, prevailing narrowly in a two-horse war. He's got plenty of upside and should be much better for that run, with the rise to 1600m suiting even better. ITSUKUSHIMA (5) might be the one to catch. He doesn't win out of turn but worked home well at Kilmore last time for second when beaten a head. Drawn wide here, expect they ride to lead and that will suit this track. MISTER BUSINESSMAN (2) is racing consistently, not far away at Donald last time when drawing wide. He can land closer here and prove tough to hold out. REAL ALLIANCE (6) is flying having beaten Itsukushima at Kilmore to notch up her third win in a row. Drawn well for Stackhouse, there's no reason she can't run very well again. WILLIAMSTOWN (4) next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Skycatcher to win. |

Picklebet Werribee Cup 1600m
Genuine tempo with Precious Charm leading the way. Over to the Cup and HOLYMANZ (1) looks very well placed off two good runs this time in. First up he was held up half the straight in the G2 Damien Oliver when beaten three lengths. He sat close to a strong speed in the Cranbourne Cup, got shuffled back and then came again late for a narrow third in a good effort. This is a fair bit easier and while he has to give them all weight, he only needs to hold his form from the good gate to be winning. PRECIOUS CHARM (11) and RUMBLED AGAIN (4) met in the G3 Summoned Stakes recently which Rumbled Again won at a big price. She's run well again since in the G3 Eclipse and has claims while Precious Charm can cross to lead which is always beneficial here. SCHEELITE (10) had no luck in the Cranbourne Cup last time at $10. He meets Holymanz better at the weights. VERDAD (5) was better second up in the Kilmore Cup when chasing a leader who had every favour. Peaks now, he just needs a good ride. SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Holymanz. |

Just Energy - We Take Care Of All Your Solar Needs BM66 Hcp 1100m
Genuine tempo with the speedy Innocent Enuff crossing from the outside gate. NO FOOLING (2) looks the one to beat. Two runs this time in have been good, finishing third on each occasion. He was beaten at $2.45 at Pakenham but the conditions were very heavy by then. 1100m now looks perfect, he'll just need a bit of luck in running from the wide gate. LAVANDULA (10) maps for every chance. She's won two on the bounce this campaign, dominant fresh at Ballarat and far too good again at Seymour. Up to 1100m is the tiny niggle but she'll get every chance. IT'S A YES (7) resumes. He didn't manage a place in three runs last time in but the fresh run was a narrow fifth in a much stronger 3yo affair at Flemington. He's absolutely good enough. FUROSSHI (12) is racing well and should be there again. SUGGESTED PLAY: No Fooling to win. |
