NUM TIME COMMENT
1 02:45 POGSON CRONIN KERR SOLICITORS COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN HANDICAP 1175m
Anticipating good pressure with many of these facing the starter for the first time. Tricky. HOLD THIS (1) debuts and won his latest trial by 4L at the track with race rider McDougall aboard. He strikes at 25% this venue (352 rides) and 20% with the Scott yard. This is winnable for the promising gelding. The danger may well be another debutant, GO COMMANDO (2), who has been saved for this by the in-form Seib yard. Has the inside gate and has trialled at Goulburn and Rosehill. Boudvillain rides, and he flies with the stable. GOBINDA (5) peaks off two threatening efforts at Wagga Riverside. Has an awkward gate but he sets the standard for the newcomers. The Canberra-trained EXTREMELY EXCITING (8) has been disappointing, but she can improve second up and is one for the exotics at a price.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Hold This appeals on what we've seen.
2 03:25 BORDER BANDAG BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP 1500m
They should run this along with San Marco and Highly Intrigued taking it up over Steve's Way. AMBER STAR (3) impressed racing in town last preparation and is ready to fire off a narrow defeat at Wangaratta. Proven third-up and maps for the run of the race. 2x winning rider Duffy is reunited, replacing the 4kg claiming apprentice. KING INCANTO (4) settled last in the same contest and couldn't have been more impressive getting up to win. Peaks for this, but he will give away a start and risks getting strung up from the inside draw. Has claims if things work out. HIGHLY INTRIGUED (8) has been within range without winning. Has the blinkers on for the first time and has 3kg weight relief at this level. That gives her a hope. SHEER LUNACY (6) is racing well and is on a quick backup. He's in the mix.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Amber Star.
3 04:05 ALLURE LASH & BEAUTY BAR MAIDEN PLATE 1400m
Only a small field with Ravens Glow likely to find a comfortable lead. EXTRA HANDS (8) has changed yards on a 13-day return and peaks off three placings. Got to within 1.7L here last time, and the in-form Boudvillian replaces McDougall. Finds the right race and will be hard to beat. HIGH COUNTRY STAR (4) found one much too good here on debut but covered the others and he will be better for the outing. Keeps the handy 2kg claim and can make the finish with average luck in the run. RAVENS GLOW (12) raced at Echuca on debut and looked a run short. She can improve into the money with that under the saddle. McDougall sticks with the Scott-trained SOOTY AND SWEEP (5) and we are likely to see more from him at his second start.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Extra Hands with the race form/fitness.
4 04:40 STUART GORDAN LANDSCAPING CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 1600m
Strong pace from Perfume River and Carry On Lizzy matching motors with Sleeper close at hand. A good contest. PERFUME RIVER (8) has laid a solid foundation for the mile and has placed 2/3 third-up. She has more to give and will race forward from the inside barrier. Winning rider Duffy is reunited. STRATEGIC DEFENSE (9) finally broke through, delivering comfortably here over 1500m. She will use the inside gate and can go back-to-back without surprise. FREUD (3) was well in the market at Wagga over a mile, beaten 2.7L. He's better than that and arrives here on a 7-day backup with the blinkers on for the first time. Has a wide gate, but McDougall is a positive jockey engagement. CARRY ON LIZZY (11) led and placed at Wagga over a mile and will hit this at peak. Sits on the minimum and also deserves consideration.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Perfume River.
5 05:15 HIB INSURANCE CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1400m
Only a small field with Ollandia Beach likely to find a comfortable lead. A good race. KENDALIA (3) drifted well back last start before winding up strongly to miss a nose over 1300m at Canberra. He couldn't have been more impressive and has an inside gate today. 23% stable striker Nick Heywood is reunited and the Matt-Dale galloper can go one better. AUTUMN BREAK (7) has his third race start and seeks the hat-trick off a 3.2L win this track/trip. He goes wet and dry and will position forward from the inside barrier. Promising and is feared. BON HOLLER (4) steps up in trip off her nose defeat here first up in stronger. Was heavily bet, and that effort stacks up. She's won a trial here since and McDougall sticks aboard. Has the blinkers on again, but the outside barrier needs managing. A player all the same. WITH STRENGTH (2) disappointed here last time but as the betting suggested, he was on an upward curve. Might be looking for the longer sprint and can't be ruled out.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Kendalia.
6 05:55 CHOICES FLOORING WODONGA COUNTRY BOOSTED BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1175m
Doubtfree, Cassimir and Foreman's Gully can set a strong tempo. HEAVENLY KISS (2) resumed as a $3.3 favourite and delivered a CL2 at Wagga Riverside over 1200m. Maps for the run of the race and an in-form hoop sticks aboard. Seeks the hat-trick and fitter she will get every chance. DOUBTFREE (8) is free running and has switched to the Scott barn on a 27-day return. Found one much too good here last time, but the form prior stacks up. McDougall stays aboard, and the betting will be key. DOORALONG (4) was a big Maiden winner at Moruya and may have got the tongue over the bit at Canberra following starting at short odds. Heywood is a key jockey engagement and fitter again, he can get back on track. SANTOLINI (9) did a good job winning a CL1 here comfortably. The wide barrier is a niggle, but she can't be ruled out.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Heavenly Kiss.
7 06:30 DLG ALUMINIUM & GLAZING TWILIGHT - OPEN HANDICAP 1175m
Master Of Disguise is expected to lead at a strong tempo. Competitive. MASTER OF DISGUISE (7) is third-up and ready to fire off solid efforts in town. Has been kept up to the mark with a Canberra trial placing and will carry just 52kgs this grade with the 3kg claim atop. Has the blinkers on for the first time and the Seib barn is flying. VELLA FOX (4) presents off an Open win at Canberra and that stacks right up. He has won 3/4 second up and keeps the in-form Boudvillain. He can race forward and should get every chance. YAM (6) will be fitter again and he posted a strong relative number at Bendigo last time. He has claims on the 9-day return. CANNY HELL (2) was on speed missing a whisker in a Wagga Open. The 2kg claim is handy but the outside gate requires a good ride. Has claims regardless.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Master Of Disguise.
8 07:00 MARTINS TRAVEL BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 900m
Cracking tempo with Noci Di Cocco and Simply Luscious leading the way. SERENADING (8) resumes for Danny Beasley and showed plenty when winning on a heavy track at Wagga on debut. She's sure to have come on and will get conditions to suit. Draws the outside but has a go-to rider aboard. This is winnable and the betting will be key. HELLS SON (3) has been narrowly beaten his last two and impressed. Raced a $3.3 favourite here last time and winning rider Heywood is reunited. Deserves another win and should go close. SIMPLY LUSCIOUS (5) is free running and will be better for the Swan Hill placing. Has a handy 2kg claim and plenty up her sleeve. She has to be kept very safe. OH NO MIKKI (1) resumes and is best on the fresh side. The gate is against but the 3kg claim is handy. She may prove best of the remainder.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Serenading appeals.
