Biologist and Grande Rio will be prominent early. GRAND RIO brought very strong form missing a lip FU as a hot favourite. She draws inside and has plenty to offer.
WILDFLOWER ran her best race making the quinella FU off a nice trial and has won 2/3 second-up. The mare was beaten a length in the Group 3 Manawatu Breeders two back and is right in this.
Small field but no runner is without some hope and has reasonable pace too. The one to beat is GRAND RIO that can swim and gets a senior rider atop today who is the only person to have won on him. The stablemate in the field that would have been odds on and won this for sure has been withdrawn and that is a huge tell for bettors. HIGH CLASS beat this grade three starts ago here against her own sex. Incredibly is down 1kg in this for a win so thrown in. WILDFLOWER is drawn to be in the finish. Dual winner second up. Biologist could lead up here at 59kg after a claim. Class dropper. Dual course winner. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Grande Rio from the Baker yard in a good contest.
