Monterey Magic and River Drift the pacesetters. RIVER DRIFT bolted in to shed her maiden tag at Sapphire Coast last start on resuming. Produced the win with a bit up her sleeve and will be fitter for the outing. Can go on with things here. OUT OF THE NIGHT drops back from a Highway Handicap. Much better suited amongst this sort of company. Expect that River Drift will lead from Southern Gamble at an even tempo. RIVER DRIFT was having her first run for new trainer Terry Robinson when a devastating winner at Sapphire Coast last start over 1200m. Was competitive in Victoria last prep over seven furlongs but looks to have taken it to a new level now. Looks very hard to run down. SHOULDER CHARGE broke a win drought when successful last start over 1400m at Sapphire Coast, running on well to find the lead at the 150m mark and holding off a late challenge. No reason he cannot repeat the feat back on home soil. OUT OF THE NIGHT closed strongly to just miss a place over 1206m on the Canberra Acton track two starts back, then failed in town last time out. Better placed in this company so look for a return to form. ON OUR SELECTION was a barnstorming winner last start and is in the mix again. SUGGESTED PLAY: River Drift for the win. Looks promising.
