Hard Go Jo and Oh What A Thief can each go forward. D'BEAK is the best galloper in this field and drops in grade off a one paced ninth in a Highway Handicap at Randwick 13 days ago. The gelding rates highest amongst this field on his closing second at Canberra second up. The query is whether he can run out a strong mile. By Medaglia D'Oro, pedigree suggests he can. OH WHAT A THIEF has been holding his form well of late and made all last start over 1400m at Narrandera. Expect him to be prominent throughout. Oh What A Thief the likely leader. D'BEAK missed by a nose FU at Canberra and then had no luck in a Highway Handicap at Randwick. Gets a wide gate but can feature strongly back to this grade and up to the mile. OH WHAT A THIEF ran three placings before breaking through in a stronger race last time from the front. Is sure to go close. COD ROCK was a comfortable winner here this grade and trip 18 days ago and the small claim assists. FOOTMARK comes off a Maiden win here and deserves some consideration along with THE BIG BOMBER looking to forgive the Canberra heavy track flop.
