Easily one of the highlights of the afternoon with the much hyped clash of star gallopers Astern and Capitalist. Speed anticipated from Russian Revolution, El Divino, Capitalist and Guard Of Honour. ASTERN stamped himself a class above in the Group 1 Golden Rose last start when making light work of his rivals over 1400m. Has reportedly had a minor set-back however still more than happy to be in his corner. If he repeats his last start performance he simply should set the bar too high. El Divino from an inside draw with Blinkers first time an dictate. He could have company from the likes of Guard Of Honour and Russian Revolution. Even with a slightly interrupted preparation, it is tough to go past ASTERN. The colt was electric in dominantly winning the Golden Rose. Form out of the race has since held up with third placegetter and stablemate Impending winning the Stan Fox Stakes ahead of another Rose entrant in the fourth placed Divine Prophet. On disclosed form, the colt has an edge on these and can probably take out the Roman Consul even if racing below his best. Admittedly, odds-on about a colt who has had an interrupted preparation is somewhat disconcerting. Team Snowden can get Astern rolled courtesy of a dual-pronged attack. CAPITALIST spearheads it having been freshened after an underwhelming return in the San Domenico Stakes. Reportedly didn't appreciate the Soft track and could be a sharp improver back on a Good surface. RUSSIAN REVOLUTION returns off a freshen up also. The colt is yet to put a foot wrong and concluded his two-year-old season by making all in the Vain Stakes. He is a genuine each way player. GUARD OF HONOUR took out the Heritage Stakes on resuming last start. The colt will have taken benefit from the outing and Bowman staying aboard can also be considered a positive lead. SUGGESTED PLAY: Can't possibly tip away from Astern. To this point he is the best 3YO in the land.
