Hippopotamus and Marikoriko can provide the speed. BIT OF A LAD has placed his last three for Weir and hasn’t had the best of it. Will get back again but will go close with a half decent run. DANDRE will also settle off them and is back from the city. That and the Ballarat placing prior read well for this contest and the trip should suit. ALJAMAAL has been going okay in better and gets Yendall and the inside gate and can make the photo. Wadham Blues and Marikoriko look the main sources of speed with Steel Caps and Hippopotamus also going forward. Burhan may press on from the outside. BIT OF A LAD has had a few chances and will get back in the field but if he gets the breaks he's very close to a win. Beaten favourite last time but go well. CHAMPAGNE NIGHTS stayed on after racing on the pace at Pakenham last time and getting back onto a grass track will be a plus for her. Good each-way claims. ALJAMAAL has drawn to be right behind the speed and doesn't have to improve much to be in the finish. Dancing Hussy is lightly raced and the extra distance may suit. SUGGESTED PLAY: Bit Of A Lad appeals each way.
