KALAVEDO is one of a number that can lead and did that fading the latest off a trial win. Drops substantially in grade and should take beating. ASPEN STAR is also speedy and followed a 2U neat miss at Northam with a solid run as favourite at Belmont. He’ll go close in this company despite the drop in trip.
Not a big field but there is pace on offer from Aspen Star, Casino Gleam and Arsenal Power. ASPEN STAR led last start over 1650m at Belmont but was a spent force in the run home and missed a place. Went close the start before over this trip at Northam - winning chance if he finds that form. KALAVEDO showed pace last start when fresh off a 42-day break but folded badly in the final stages over this course and distance. Has a good record in this scenario and with added fitness today looms as a major threat. ATTAMOR just lacked the dash required last start at the end of 1200m although only beaten 2.5L. Form is better at this trip so look for improvement today from the inside alley. ARSENAL POWER is a trifecta chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Kalavedo with a saver quinella Aspen Star.
