Calzaghe Prince led on debut. Expect him and Kruanui to be the likely lead pair. KRUANUI placed on resuming when attempting to make all over this distance at Narrandera. Condition perhaps just gave out late however he will strip fitter for the outing and profiles as a genuine winning chance in this. CALZAGHE PRINCE fell only just short of making all when second over 1300m at this course 13 days ago. The gelding will have taken valuable race experience and fitness from the outing. He drops back to 1200m now and can go one better. KRUANUI is one of a few who like to lead and has placed 3/5 including FU. Will go close with the 2kg claim. GRIDDLEBONE will be better for the debut placing at Nowra and the Murray yard are big strikers here. Penza sticks and the gelding is sure to have come on. CALZAGHE PRINCE led and was beaten a lip here on debut when expected to need it. Gets the 3kg claim and has to go in. EREBOR is better than the form reads and has his first outing for the Cavanough yard.
SUGGESTED PLAY: Competitive maiden however still believe today is the day for Kruanui. Back him straight out.
