Even with a small field, they still look set to go along at a strong early clip. All eyes will be on TIME AWAITS after she turned plenty of heads in her latest trial over 900m at Balaklava. The filly is drawn to receive all of the favours from barrier 2 and she should take some holding out. Neilson taking the ride on MULK could be considered an encouraging lead. The son of Sepoy has been fair in his hitouts. Keep an eye on both betting and parade rings. A field of first starting two year olds to begin the day is hard. At least they've trialled. TIME AWAITS could not have done more in her second trial. That will have given her good confidence and she draws to be right there all the way. MULK heads over after some Victorian trials. The stable like to get their youngsters up and running early. LOVE POET was behind Time Awaits in that trial. She will get to carry a very light weight in this. Not sure she will get across though. PASEETO is the other McEvoy runner. He may need a little further in time but could be placed. The others haven't done much. SUGGESTED PLAY: Straight out Time Awaits. She looks a cut above these.
